Tisca Chopra is an Indian actress, film producer, and author predominantly working in Hindi cinema. She graduated in English literature from Delhi University. She actively worked in amateur theater and became a part of a few theater groups there. Later, she moved to Mumbai to receive training in acting from Naseeruddin Shah and Feroz Abbas Khan. Chopra made her debut in Bollywood with the film ‘15th August’ in 1993 and acted in two more movies in the same year. In 1999, the actress made her debut in Indian television with the show ‘Star Bestsellers’. Even after working in numerous movies in Hindi and Tamil cinema, the actress did not gain much fame. However, the release of ‘Taare Zameen Par’ in 2007 changed Chopra's position in the mainstream industry. The film earned her the Stardust Best Supporting Actress Award (People's Choice). Some of her best TV works include ‘Karishma Kaa Karishma’ and ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki’ and ‘24’. Chopra’s Hotstar Specials web series ‘Hostages’ also became a hit on the OTT platform. The actress has appeared in over 45 films in different languages like Hindi, Telugu, Punjabi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Marathi. Some of the movies she appeared in include 'Firaaq', 'Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji', 'OMG: Oh My God!', 'Rahasya', 'Bioscopewala', and 'Good Newwz'.
